FSC-Certified Wood and Why It Matters for Your Brush Brand

FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification is increasingly a purchase condition for brush and comb ranges in Europe, especially in Germany, the Nordics and the UK.

FSC certification has two parts: the forest itself is managed to strict environmental and social standards, and the chain of custody tracks the timber from forest to finished product so every step is traceable.

For a factory, holding chain-of-custody certification means it can label products with the FSC logo and provide the documentation an importer needs for customs and retail compliance.

It also matters commercially: shelf audits in major retail chains now routinely ask for proof of responsible sourcing, and brands that can show it win the listing.

If FSC is on your roadmap, ask your factory whether they hold chain-of-custody certification and request a copy of the certificate before you commit to a program.
